Ekpo is Relationship Manager Migrant & International Churches at the BSNF. “We have noticed that these churches are interested in our material. In Ghana, Bible Basics is used in Sunday schools. Ghanaian migrant churches in the Netherlands were enthusiastic about it and informed us that they would like to use the English version, too. We have now made that possible.”
Around the world, there is also a pilot project with five English episodes of the method. They are trialed in a range of African, Asian and South-American countries.
Bible and Child
Dutch Bijbel Basics and English Bible Basics are projects in which the BSNF brings the Bible closer to children aged 4-12 years old. With a dual focus on the Bible and children’s needs, the method takes into account children’s preferred learning styles and age differences and provides children with a broad basic knowledge of Bible stories. Bible Basics has been developed by the BSNF’s Bible scholars and pedagogues.
The Dutch version is now used by approximately 13,000 youth workers and parents, and comprises 195 Bible stories, which can be downloaded for free. The accompanying Beginner’s Guide is available in Dutch and English. By the middle of 2021, the 200+ episodes about essential Bible stories will be ready in Dutch; in 2022 they will be available in English.
Read Together Bible
Bible Basics was developed to complement the Family Bible. That Bible for parents and children met a need. A special edition of it has been translated into ten languages; among others French, English, Portuguese, Arabic and Chinese, and is distributed in more and more countries.
