Bequest to the NBG

Would you like to leave something special behind? Even after you are gone, you can help distribute the Bible where it is needed worldwide. With a bequest to the Netherlands-Flemish Bible Society, you pass the Bible on to future generations.

In doing so, you ensure that more people can read the Bible in their own language and discover the Bible as a relevant source for their lives.

Request the legacy magazine without obligation.

The decision to leave a legacy is not one taken lightly. That is why the NBG has developed a magazine: 'Received to Pass On'. It outlines what you can do to arrange a legacy and explains what leaving a legacy to the NBG means. You can receive the free magazine either digitally or by post via the button below.

Nienke van Kuiken leaves a legacy to the worldwide Bible work

Nothing is as unique and enduring as the Word of God

'All glory to the Lord.' Those words are central to the life of Nienke van Kuiken. A modest woman who begins to beam when she talks about what the Bible means to her life. 'I wish the message of the Bible for everyone, which is why the NBG is included in my will.'

How can you leave a bequest to the NBG?

To leave a legacy to the NBG, you need a will. You can appoint the NBG as heir (or co-heir), or give the NBG a legacy.

The NBG as heir

If you appoint the NBG as heir (or co-heir), the NBG receives a specific portion of your estate and is jointly responsible for the settlement of your estate.

A legacy for the NBG

You also have the option of leaving a legacy to the NBG via your will. Such a legacy can consist of a fixed sum of money or specific assets. The settlement of your estate will then proceed independently of the NBG.

The NBG as executor

The executor (formerly the 'executor of the will') plays an important role in the settlement of an estate: he or she takes care of paying bills, settling debts, selling a home, filing tax returns, etc. In the special case that you appoint the NBG as your sole heir, we can also act as executor for you. However, it is important that you discuss this possibility with us in advance so that mutual expectations can be met.

The NBG is exempt from inheritance tax

Did you know, by the way, that charities such as the NBG are exempt from inheritance tax? This means that everything you leave to the NBG benefits our mission. Isn't that a comforting thought? The NBG has been recognized by the Tax and Customs Administration as a Public Benefit Institution (ANBI) for this purpose.
