Collecting donations in church

The mission of the Dutch-Flemish Bible Society is to bring the Bible closer to people and to help them open the Bible. We can only do our work thanks to the donations of Christians and churches. Through a collection for the mission of the NBG, churches support the distribution of the Bible: in the Netherlands and Flanders, and worldwide.

You can collect for various projects. On this page, you will find all information about the collection goals for 2026 and the materials to announce the collection. Additionally, a video about the NBG is available, which you can show, for example, prior to the collection.

Collecting for the NBG

We believe that the Bible is relevant and changes people's lives. Therefore, we want to ensure that everyone can discover the Bible.

We support adults and children in reading and understanding the Bible, we provide Bible translations in Dutch, such as the NBV21 and the Bijbel in Gewone Taal, and we produce special Bibles for children and teenagers. And we support hundreds of churches with free materials for children's services and youth ministry, such as Bijbel Basics and Bijbel Next.

Our mission extends beyond the Netherlands and Flanders. Internationally, we collaborate with more than 150 local Bible societies on the translation and distribution of the Bible, so that more and more Christians can read God's Word.

We can only do this work with the support of your church.

Collection for specific purposes

In 2026, we will highlight a number of Bible distribution projects for which you can collect as a church.

Vietnam -
Bibles for new believers

Help give new believers and young people in Vietnam their first Bible of their own, and strengthen their witness of faith in this Buddhist country.

Suriname –
Bibles for young people

Give young people in Suriname stability during a difficult phase of life. With a collection, you support vulnerable teenagers who are looking for stability and hope.

Angola –
Bibles and vocational training for prisoners

In the overcrowded prisons of Angola, one Bible often means: “God sees me. My life can change.” Give prisoners a chance for a new beginning, with God’s Word and practical training.

You can transfer the collection proceeds to our account number, stating 'church collection', the purpose of the collection + the name of the church.
