SKIN Course Youth Work

In November, SKIN will start a course on youth work. This will take place on four Monday nights (1, 8, 15 and 22 November), from 8-10 pm on Zoom.

The course addresses different themes. The first night – 1 November – discusses how to read the Bible with children aged 0-12 and what methods can be used for that. Lucré de Man-van Putten will be teaching this evening. She is the Bible Society for the Netherlands and Flanders (NBG)’s Child and Bible Expert. Her responsibilities include the Sunday School method Bible Basics, which is available both in Dutch and in English.

Lucré de Man: “This will be a practical night; we will see what Bible stories suit different ages of children. You will also be given advice on how to spark children’s interest in Bible stories.”

The later nights have these topics: what to consider when planning a youth night and how to raise funds for it; how to discuss taboos with youngsters; how to incorporate youth pastoral care in your church.

We are expecting this to be an instructive and inspirational course, with ample opportunity to exchange experiences. If you would like to participate, just send an email to Marjolein Hekman ().
